Stephanie and Ryan reached out to me well before their wedding to schedule an engagement photo session. I’ve known Stephanie and her sister since high school, where we shared countless memories and forged a strong bond. As their engagement session approached, the weather forecast was anything but predictable, with unexpected rain and thunderstorms looming. On the morning of their shoot, I made the 2.5-hour drive to our chosen location, fingers and toes crossed, hoping the weather would cooperate. I’ve come to think of Cascade Locks as a bit of a weather vortex—sometimes you get the short end of the stick, and other times you catch a perfect break.
Despite the weather uncertainty, we were blessed with a beautiful hour exploring this stunning location. We hiked, shared joyous tears, and laughed heartily, making the most of every moment. Stephanie and Ryan’s connection is truly special, and I am overjoyed to have captured such authentic and heartfelt love.
